1. Mounting of Set Screw Unit:

a. Verify Shaft Accuracy Before installing the bearing unit, ensure the shaft is free of bends, burrs, and other imperfections by checking its accuracy.

b. Verify the Rigidity and Flatness of the Mounting Surface
The machine’s mounting surface must be adequately rigid, and it should be as flat and smooth as possible. Recommended flatness: maximum 0.15mm (0.05mm is more preferable).

c. Install the Bearing Unit
Avoid using a hammer to press-fit the bearing onto the shaft, as a strong impact on the side surface of the inner ring can cause the slinger to move and potentially create issues. When there is a tight fit between the bearing bore and the shaft, it is recommended to use press equipment for installation.

d. Pre-tighten the Housing
Over-tightening the mounting bolts can lead to deformation of the housing. Tighten the bolts to the appropriate torque. It is recommended to use a washer with the bolt when mounting the housing, as the bolt alone may damage the housing.

e. Tighten the Setscrews
Insert a hexagonal wrench into the hexagonal hole of the setscrew, and tighten the setscrews to the recommended torque.

2. Mounting of Eccentric Locking Collar Unit:

NOTE: Eccentric locking collar units are not recommended for applications where the direction of rotation is sometimes reversed, as the eccentric collar can loosen.

c. Fit the Eccentric Collar
Align the eccentric section of the inner ring of the bearing with the eccentric recessed section of the eccentric locking collar. Rotate the collar in the direction of shaft rotation by hand to temporarily tighten it.

d. Rotate the Eccentric Collar
Insert a rod into the hole on the circumference of the eccentric collar and tap it with a hammer so that the collar rotates in the direction of shaft rotation.

e. Tighten the Eccentric Collar
Tighten the setscrew on the eccentric collar to the recommended torque. Please refer to the TRQ catalog for the appropriate torque.

f. Tighten the Housing
Over-tightening the mounting bolts can lead to deformation of the housing. Ensure the bolts are tightened to the specified torque.

3. Mounting of Adapter Sleeve Unit:

NOTE: The adapter sleeve unit can be reliably secured to the shaft even when subjected to impact loads and vibrations. However, this unit cannot be used on a shaft subjected to grease axial load.

a. Fit the Sleeve onto the Shaft
Position the sleeve onto the shaft so that its tapered section is centered on the bearing. To make fitting easier, expand its slot with a screwdriver or similar tool.

b. Install the Bearing Units
Fit the bearing unit over the sleeve.

c. Pre-tighten the Housing
Over-tightening the mounting bolts can lead to deformation of the housing. Tighten the bolts to the appropriate torque. It is recommended to use a washer with the bolt when mounting the housing, as the bolt alone may damage the housing.

d. Tighten the Adapter Sleeve
Gently tap the side of the sleeve along its entire circumference to ensure the bearing inner ring is closely seated on the sleeve.

e. Fit Washer and Nut
Place the lockwasher and fully hand-tighten the nut.

f. Lock the Nut
Fit a jig or a screwdriver into one of the slots on the nut, and tap it with a hammer until the nut turns 60 to 90 degrees. NEVER tap the slinger and NEVER overtighten the nut.

g. Secure the Nut
Bend the tabs of the lockwasher to fit into the slots on the nut. Never rotate the nut backward to fit the washer tabs; always rotate the nut forward to fit the washer tabs.

h. Tighten the Housing
Over-tightening the mounting bolts can lead to deformation of the housing. Ensure the bolts are tightened to the specified torque.

4. Mounting of Unit with Covers:

a. Fill Grease
To enhance dust and waterproofing effects, apply grease all around the seal lip of the cover, and fill two-thirds of the internal space of the cover with grease.

b. Install the Bearing Unit
Pass one cover along the shaft, then slide the bearing unit onto the shaft. The steps to install the bearing unit onto the shaft are the same as the mounting steps for the setscrew unit. It is recommended that the end of the shaft be chamfered beforehand to avoid damaging the lips of the rubber seal.

c. Fit Cover 1
Take the cover that has been passed along the shaft and press it into the housing. Be careful not to strike the surface of the cover directly with a steel hammer. Use a synthetic resin or wood block. Tap around the circumference of the cover from a 45-degree angle to apply a uniform impact, fitting it into the groove on the housing.

d. Fit Cover 2
Again, be careful not to strike the surface of the cover directly with a steel hammer. Use a synthetic resin or wood block. Tap around the circumference of the cover from a 45-degree angle to apply a uniform impact, fitting it into the groove on the housing.
